If you suffer from high blood pressure, you obviously need to do something about it.
But is it really absolutely necessary for you to have to regularly take all sorts of different pills for the remainder of your life?
It may surprise you but the answer to that question is acually "no".
Fortunately there are some natural ways that you can use to reduce your blood pressure without popping all sorts of pills.
To start with, if you're regularly stressed then it's highly recommended that you investigate a program to reduce the stress you're suffering from. I find that meditation is good for this - it's simple and various scientific studies have shown it to be beneficial in reducing stress.
Then, take a look at your diet. If you are regularly munching on snacks and eating junk food then changing your diet should be high up on your priority list. If you're one of the many people aren't including a minimum of 5 portions of vegetables and fruit, you should change what you eat. And remember that eating a packet of potato chips doesn't count as a portion of vegetables! Plus, although drinking juice is easier, you'll get more benefit from eating the actual fruit or vegetable - raw or cooked.
Cut down on your salt intake. Do this gradually, so you won't instantly start craving more salt. If your salt intake is too high, that's not good. But don't just buy a "low salt" version of a product only to sprinkle extra salt on top! If the products you buy have a nutrition label, remember that salt can also be referred to as sodium but the figure for this is around half the actual salt in the product.
Do your best to reduce the amount of caffeine (think cola and coffee, but also tea) as well as tobacco and alcohol. You don't necessarily have to give these up completely - unless your doctor has told you to - but it's definitely worth cutting them down.
